Product Description

Ultraviolet disinfection equipment for open-channel waste water treatment

 

Description:

An ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system transfers electromagnetic energy from a mercury arc lamp to an organism's genetic material (DNA and RNA). When UV radiation penetrates the cell wall of an organism, it destroys the cell's ability to reproduce.

UV water disinfection system is beneficial & efficient for wastewater treatment, is a process used to remove contaminants from wastewater or sewage and convert it into an effluent that can be returned to the water cycle with minimum impact on the environment, or directly reused. It Improves the quality of water to make it more acceptable for a specific end-use. The end use may be drinking, industrial water supply, irrigation, river flow maintenance, water recreation or many other uses, including being safely returned to the environment.

 

Product Configurations

UVC disinfection module

Every module consists of stainless steel UVC lamp bracket, quartz sleeve, cleaning construction, power distribution system, data acquisition system;

The whole UVC disinfection system is made up of several UVC disinfection module, for easy installation and maintenance;

Every module has a fast cover, which will avoid taking module out of water or destroying the sealing capability of quartz sleeves when checking and replacing UVC lamps.

Low water-resistance module has lower water resistance than conventional module, and minor change of water level before and after disinfection.

Waterproofing grade conform to IP68, applicable for rigorous occasions.

Seal ring is added for electric cable in order to prevent water going in, causing short circuit, and damaging UVC lamps.

Disinfection modules are made of high-quality corrosion-resistant material;  UVC lamp tubes and signal cables are sealed in the disinfection modules to avoid exposure to waste water and UV rays.

UV germicidal lamps

UVC lamp is one of the cores of UVC disinfection system. Our modules use world top-level low-pressure high intensity UVC lamp tubes, installed in quartz sleeves, vertical or horizontal to water level. The efficient service lifetime of lamp tubes is as long as 9000 to 12000 hours with maximum power 250 to 320W. The UVC germicidal lamps use imported technology of solid amalgam alloy; the guaranteed service life time reaches 9000 hours.

Ballast cabinet

Ballasts are installed in a cabinet; Ballast cabinet is placed near the UVC disinfection modules;

Each UVC disinfection module is connected with ballast cabinet through water-proof cable plug.

Ballasts enable the UVC lamps with instant high-voltage startup and high-efficiency variable power output.

The waterproofing grade of cabinet is IP55, with cooling system inside, preventing dust and moisture going inside, ensuring the stable work of ballasts.

Quartz sleeve

Quartz sleeves are installed on module bracket. High-quality quartz sleeves with high UVC light transmittance (greater than or equal to 90%) are used to guarantee high UV penetration rate and high-strength UVC output . There is one closed end and one open end, using multiple sealing design. The water proofing grade is IP68, can efficiently prevent water permeating into quartz sleeves and affecting the performance of UVC lamps, also better protected from potential damage during maintenance.

System configurations- simplify operation and maintenance

1. Automatic control center

Control system realizes all parameters and control through human-machine interface, such as turning on/off disinfection system, troubleshooting, lamp run time and working condition, parameter setting, etc. The above design enables operators to monitor the operation of UVC disinfection system, and provide the most efficient sterilization dose for disinfection process.

Automatic control center can exchange data with central control room and realize automatic control through the following methods: active or passive signal, industrial ethernet, PROFIBUS IP module.

3. Choose appropriate PLC brand and ports according to clients requirements.

4. Alarm system: When fault occurs, the alarm system can indicate the type of fault and position through sound or graphical method. several records are available for troubleshooting at the same time. 

5. Detecting system of ultraviolet intensity

There is detecting system of ultraviolet intensity for each module, including ultraviolet probe, UV intensity meter, etc. The ultraviolet probe is installed underwater for easily detecting scaling condition of quartz sleeves and intensity change of UVC lamps.

6. Automatic cleaning system

The effect of UV disinfection are often affected by the scaling on the surface of quartz sleeves, which reduce the ultraviolet intensity sharply.

Our ultraviolet disinfection equipment is equipped with automatic cleaning system, which can carry out on-line automatic cleaning and removing fouling from the quartz sleeves’ surface at any set time without affecting equipment’s operation.

Driven by compressed air and linked with ultraviolet intensity detecting system, the cleaning system carries out cleaning process automatically, and can be switched between manual or automatic mode.

  • Water level control system

Water level sensor is an efficient and necessary method for self-protection of UVC lamp tubes.

Because of ultraviolet germicidal lamps need to be cooled by waste water.

UVC lamps could be burnt because of insufficient heat dissipation when lighted on and exposed in air for long time. So all lamps need to be submerged in water. However, the disinfection efficiency for surface water is not ideal because of low ultraviolet transmittance rate in waste water, so the water level can not be too high in open channel. The on-line detection of water level in channel can get exact value and ensure the water level maintaining within designed range. The system will send alarm automatically to control system and extinguish all lamps if water level in channel goes beyond the maximum or minimum water level for long time.
